Improving solubility and enhancing stabilization can pose significant challenges in drug development. Early-stage identification of the most suitable approach among a diverse set of methodologies is crucial for drug improvement. With continuous advancements in pharmaceutical formulation, this series looks to examine the use of cyclodextrins for parenteral excipients, and the novel ways in which these can be leveraged.

Cory Mahnen

Cory Mahnen is a graduate of Kent State University, with a Master of Science in biology. He currently leads the parenteral and biopharma R&D teams at Ashland. With more than a decade of experience working in complex parenteral product and process development, his focus is primarily on long-acting injectables (LAIs) utilizing PLGA in the form of nanoparticles, microparticles and in situ depots.
