webinar
the magic rings: how cyclodextrins can enable drug development

who advances drug delivery? we do.

date and times:
June 14  10:00 a.m. EDT
June 15  10:00 a.m. CET

Join us to discover how cyclodextrins can be utilized as excipients in the formulation and development of drug delivery systems. This presentation will reveal potential new uses for cyclodextrins as solutions for various formulation hurdles and demonstrate how their functionality can send your R&D efforts in a new direction.

If you are looking for a drug delivery system that provides multi-functional benefits including increased solubility resulting in improved bioavailability, increased stability, odor- control or taste-masking, look no further.

key learning objectives:

  • learn about cyclodextrins and how they are used in real formulations
  • learn how to effectively evaluate cyclodextrin selection for use with various drugs
  • learn how cyclodextrins enable drug development in a variety of delivery systems, including oral, injectable, nasal, and topical
  • learn how to increase the bioavailability of poorly soluble APIs

presenter information:

Cory Mahnen
technology team leader, parenterals, Life Sciences

Cory has more than ten years of experience working in complex parenteral product and process development for a handful of CDMOs, focusing primarily on long acting injectables (LAIs) utilizing PLGA in the form of nanoparticles, microparticles and in situ depots. Several of his papers have been published in peer-reviewed journals. Cory holds a BS and Masters in biology from Kent State University.

Firas El-Saleh
principal scientist, pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences

Dr. El-Saleh has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on oral solid dosage forms. He has co-authored more than 20 scientific articles, book chapters and posters about sustained release, drug solubility using the solid dispersions technology, and the formation of cyclodextrin complexes. Dr. El-Saleh studied pharmacy at the University of Damascus/ Syria and holds a PhD in pharmaceutical technology from the University of Kiel/ Germany.
